What Makes Us Grow
An opening letter about nourishment courage, faith, purpose, and the people who help shape who we become.

Dear Reader,
Welcome to What Makes Us Grow.
For years, I have found myself returning to one question. I am not simply asking, How successful can we become? I am asking, What truly helps us become who we are meant to be?
I have learned that growth rarely comes from one thing. It comes from nourishment, education, courage, faith, the people who believe in us, and the seasons that ask more of us than we thought we could give. Sometimes growth feels exciting. Sometimes it looks like starting over. And sometimes, we do not recognize it until we look back and realize how far we have come.
I am a mom of three, an entrepreneur, a wellness advocate, and a community builder. But titles tell only part of my story. My greatest lessons have come from living: building a business, raising a family, serving my community, navigating change, and choosing to keep moving forward even when the path was not clear.
When I founded Raw South Juice Co., I believed I was creating a place centered on healthy food. Over time, it became so much more. People may have first walked through our doors for a juice or a meal, but what grew between us was connection. I learned that health is the foundation, genuine hospitality makes people feel cared for, and business can also be an act of service.
That same belief led me to create Global Future Founders. I saw what could happen when young people were given practical tools, encouragement, and an opportunity to recognize their own potential. Education changes lives. Entrepreneurship can create freedom. Leadership begins when we understand both our value and our responsibility to others. When we invest in a young person, an entire family can grow with them. Eventually, the community grows too.
But this journal is not only about what I have built. It is also about what life has built in me.
I have experienced seasons of joy, loss, uncertainty, reinvention, and new beginnings. I have learned that growth is not always graceful. Sometimes it requires us to release what no longer fits, ask difficult questions, and accept that we do not have every answer. Above all, it asks us to remain teachable.
That is why this space exists.
Here, I will share honest reflections on wellness, motherhood, business, purpose, leadership, community, and the courage it takes to evolve. Some letters will hold lessons. Others may leave us with questions. I will share what has worked, what has not, and what I am still learning, because every part of the journey has something to teach us.
I am not writing from a place of having life completely figured out. I am writing as someone who is still learning, still becoming, and still believing that our experiences can help one another.
I believe health gives us a foundation from which to build. Education opens doors. Entrepreneurship creates possibilities. Community reminds us that we were never meant to do life alone. And success becomes more meaningful when it creates space for someone else to rise.
If you have arrived here during your own season of becoming, you may be building something, beginning again, or rediscovering your purpose. You are welcome here. You do not need to have the entire plan. Growth often begins with one honest decision: to listen, to learn, and to take the next right step.
What Makes Us Grow is more than the name of this website. It is the conversation I hope to have with you.
What is shaping you right now? What have your challenges taught you? What part of your life is asking you to become braver, healthier, wiser, or more open?
My hope is that every letter leaves you with something worth carrying: a thought, a truth, a practical lesson, or perhaps the courage to begin.
This may start with my story, but ultimately, it is about all of us. When one person grows with intention and uses that growth to lift someone else, families change, communities become stronger, and futures expand.
So, welcome. I am grateful you are here.
Let’s keep growing together.
